Mr. Joe Clarke, Applied Management Systems (AMS), "SGML Testing in the NRC Electronic Information Exchange (EIE) 'Alpha' Pilot Project". Joe gave an excellent briefing on the NRC's Pilot Project for creation, composition and transporting of electronic SGML documents. The reports and DTD's from the 'Alpha' Project are available on-line via ftp from FedWorld or ECCNET.
Bob Carter, Electronic Book Technologies, gave a demonstration of EBT's products, DynaText, DynaTag and DynaWeb. DynaText creates electronic books from native SGML. DynaTag will convert word processing file formats including RTF, Frame MIF and Interleaf ASCII. DynaWeb will serve DynaText books on the Web. You can see an example of DynaWeb in action at the Novell Web Site.
The next meeting is November 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the American Geophysical Union, 2000 Florida Avenue, near Dupont Circle.
