  1. MID/IETM Briefing

    John Junod, Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, gave a briefing on the Metafile for Interactive Documents. The MID is a U.S. Navy effort sponsored by NAWCAD, St. Inigoes. It is an R&D effort to explore ways to interchange information among IETMs regardless of hardware/software platform.   2. SGML Resources

    Favorite SGML resources were shared. The results of the roundtable discussion can be found at http://www.eccnet.com/sgmlug/sgmlres.html.

  3. Future of the SGML Users Group

    A discussion revolved around what kind of information and resources the group would like to see in the future. Below is a list of things that the group would like to see:

    1. Shared knowledge on different SGML tools
    2. Lessons learned
    3. How to handle paper documents
    4. How to handle the requirement for both paper and electronic documents.
    5. How does SGML relate to CALS
  4. Next Meeting:

    The next meeting is Wednesday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the American Geophysical Union, 2000 Florida Avenue, near Dupont Circle.
